The Proventia Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) filter is easy to install and inexpensive to operate. The Proventia APU filter is called an Electrically Heated Diesel Particulate Filter (EHDPF) because it uses electric heat to regenerate, or clean, the exhaust soot out of the filter. The EHDPF is available to fit onto the Thermo King TriPac APU.

Best features of the Proventia filter:

• It requires no special high amperage alternator to work, just the standard APU alternator is enough. Competitive systems require a 160 amp or higher alternator to be installed on the main truck engine.

• Installation time is about 3 hours. Competitive systems require 8-12 hours installation time for field retrofit and 4-6 hours for new installation.

• Operation of the EHDPF is fully automatic and requires no operator intervention. Competetive systems require the driver to push a button to begin the filter cleaning process.

• The Proventia EHDPF system requires only three inches additional clearance behind the existing TriPac muffler. Competitive systems require more than 10 inches additional clearance behind the existing TriPac muffler.
